Quick run before getting on the plane

It’s a good thing we got the run out of the way. It is hotter than a volcano in San Antonio. I wish I was staying the weekend to enjoy it! Phewf!

Fear = Anticipation of Pain

And…the anticipation is ALWAYS worse than the real thing. I was sweating bullets about the epidural shot I was to have into my spine. Sounds brutal, doesn’t it?! Well, I was sweating for NOTHING… It was CAKE. Easy. I laughed out loud when they were finished. “Seriously, that’s IT?”

It could be a metaphor for life……..what else am I squeegie about that is keeping me from being in the moment? What else am I wasting energy and time on being afraid of? Hmm…………

Butts on the line…..

There’s something about signing on the dotted line that kicks training up a notch. (Well, that and Warrior Camp.) ;-) We signed up for the Black Diamond Olympic last night. WoooHOOO!

Had a hard (and fantastic!) brick today. Tomorrow is the epidural injection to see if we can tame the nerve roots. I trust the doc will have limited himself to only 1 cuppa before his steady hand is required for my back. Yeah! :-)

Rain Rain, Go Away!

I was hoping to lop into the lake today………but the rain came down again… had to do a bike run on it’s own. No worries though. We had good juju and hit it just right! The rain stopped for us! Yay!

Brick Repeats - Peak Drill II

Today was a ‘real’ tri training workout. Yeah! MC had us do 3 sequential mini-bricks, increasing the time on each cycle. Intensity around Level 3ish… Transitions were less-than 1 minute. Legs felt great!

Can’t go through it…..

How does the saying go?  Can’t go through it, can’t go under it, can’t go over it……… gotta go AROUND it.   :-)

Ran into unexpected ‘construction’ on the run this morning.   Had to hop fences and forage through brush.    (Yes, I suppose we could have turned around….. but what fun would that have been??)

I am a Warrior!

Warrior Training Camp.. wow. Where do I even start….
I have never, ever felt so centered, grounded and strong. I can breathe to my toes. For the first time in my adult memory, I took a breath and filled my belly. I never knew my strength - physically, emotionally and mentally. I am at such a state of peace.

My mind is quiet.
