Big Girl Toys…Cervelo test ride
Speedy Reedy welcomed the Cervelo folks (and their giant truck of Big Girl Toys!) for an afternoon of test riding. They filled the parking lot with what could have been the CSC homebase for Le Tour. I tested the SLC-SL…. which climbed Stone Way like a rockstar. I then played on the steeper hills of Wallingford and tried to pick up on the trail. (The trail was a zoo so I abandoned that idea quickly.)
About this bike, Bicycling Magazine says: “The best pure racer,” enthused our testers. “Like a sword,” and “ideal for breakaway specialists or those who live for windy crits,” this aero-tubed carbon bike “doesn’t waste a Watt,” and screams “I’m coming to kick your ass.”
Ha ha ha! Yeah. That’s me. The ‘breakaway specialist’. Ha ha ha ha!!! And I’m “coming to kick your ass!“ Ha haahha! Who writes this stuff???
I’m glad no ‘watts were wasted’ but next time I’d like to test the Soloist Carbon or the R3.
Oh, and I’ll definitely bring my own seat. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

o man, don’t start testing these cervelos. I rode one last year (among many others at interbike) and that cervelo is all I want. Can’t believe you the SLC didn’t convert you.

wait…did you run, or did you test bikes?

Ha ha!
I could easily be a convert…. but I wonder if the SLC isn’t ‘too much bike’ for me?? Is there such a thing as ‘too much bike’? I’m a mid-pack age-grouper…….. the ‘plain’ soloist might be more my speed……….
