The run part was faster….

…but the walking part (to figure out the Garmin) was slower…   So, overall a 10min/mile.    Sooo much figuring out!   I think the cloud cover was impeding the satellite signal.  Darned satellite.

Plyometrics makes me hungry!!

Phewf!  Now that I’ve added the winter regime of plyos back into the workouts…..I am hungry ALL the time.   I must remind myself to add more protein so I don’t turn into a nut-bar.   If my blood sugar drops, I get wacky!!

MLT route - Only one nasty dog

Happy to report there was only one nasty dog on this route today…….  Usually there are a few.   Fortunately, they are all fenced in………but, lord help us if they ever get out.   

This could be a plug for the “Academy of Canine Behavior” in Bothell, WA.   People think it’s dog training…….but really, it’s dog-OWNER training.  

And, it’s a great investment!!

Wii Fit - Don’t get hit in the face!

I’m not sure how to classify this workout……… there’s no pie color for ‘hilarity’!! OMG, we were laughing SO HARD…..We tested out Lolly’s new “Wii Fit” games over the weekend.  The ‘workouts’, especially for balance, do test your body…….. but moreso, they made me HOWL. I’m sure this counts as an additional ab workout!!

Check out the ‘balance’ workout that has you ‘heading’ soccer balls. Don’t get hit in the face!!!! Ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa!

Got into trouble…

You know you’re in trouble when you come around the corner and your uncle is standing on the sidewalk with his coat on… waiting for you.   Oops.  Aunt Lolly & I got caught up in our great power walk - and conversation! - and completely lost track of time.     They were supposed to be at a brunch at 11am……  but, oops, we got back at 10:58am.  

On one hand, I felt bad……..but on the other hand, the look on Uncle Doug’s face was pricelessly funny!    Don’t laugh out loud when UD is mad.   Hee hee.

M&M’s for dinner…

Caught in the sucking vortex of air travel last night… I ran for planes, begged for seats on gates that were just-closed, and finally was allowed on the LAST flight out of Atlanta. (THANK YOU Zaida at the Delta counter in Norfolk!!)

In the frey, I didn’t have a moment to buy a healthy dinner or any water mid-trip. I drank as many ‘mini-cups’ of water on the final leg home as I could, but my hunger pangs got the best of me. I buckled and bought the $2 bag of M&M’s from the cart. (Though the Biscoff cookies ARE divine, they just couldn’t cut it on their own.) They were PEANUT M&M’s so I justified it by counting the PROTEIN in the peanuts.  Hehe! :-)

Anyhooo — many delays and hours on the tarmac later, I finally got in about 1am. Like troopers, we got up to meet the Saturday 7am run group for a 60 minute jaunt. Man, I was dragging my butt. M&Ms as a pre-workout dinner….not so happening.

On the upside, I’m HOME and AWAKE (and not groggy on a plane taking the first flight out this morning!)…… So, all is well.
