Quiet ride in the country… except for the darn Cougars
All was well in the country on the Centennial Trail this morning. Nary another rider for miles. It was eerily more quiet than riding the Burke Gilman where city sounds are plenty.
That is, until we found the sign warning us what to do in case we cross paths with a Cougar..(not the Washington State kind; the real ‘mountain lion’ kind.) Apparently there have been sightings lately. The sign said: “Do not run. Look it in the eye. Wave your arms. Yell loudly. Be firm.”
So, that’s what we did….all the way back to the truck: “BACK OFF, COUGAR!” (and then we’d laugh…..)
Yep. Sloooooooow morning. Not. Enough. Coffee.
