Run Swim Run - Ironman HI route

The timer must be broken

Geez…. our timer must be on the fritz. We COOKED this morning on the same route as last time. There is NO WAY we ran the same time. Oh well. At least we’re logging the miles and we’re sticking to the ‘intermediate’ plan for the Vancouver First Half. Week 1. Done. :-)

Island sleepies

Maybe it’s the time change? Maybe it’s my body decompressing? Maybe it’s all the salt water snorkeling? I don’t know for sure why it happens, but when I come to Hawaii, I find myself sleepy all day. I could very easily have a nap every afternoon on the beach. I am in bed well before 9pm. And I love getting up early to drink my morning Kona coffee and breath in the fresh air. Not that I’m complaining about it…. It simply fascinates me…

(It could be all those sleep inducing macadamia nuts?? )

Maybe, some things are better kept mysteries….

Football is tough on the thighs!

Even though our run today was hard - and I bet a great calorie burner -  I’m sure I ate the GNP of a small country at the Sirian’s Apple Cup party.    Brownie bites, chips & salsa, bar-b-que, cookies, apple salad, and many more morsels I didn’t even reach.    Glad the Cougs won but … jeepers.   Football is tough on the thighs!

The high lasts foreverrrrrrrrr……

Dreadmill sprint interval workout.   Hard, fast, up to 7.5% grade… and in 30 second increments.  8mph to 10.5 mph.   I love this workout because the ‘high’ lasts for ages.     Yeahhhhhhhh baby.

Craving Boston / Mother of God, it’s COLD!

At a conference in Boston.  I LOVE the energy in this city.  After a long day of (really good!) conference work, I was craving a roam!!   Holy moly, the wind was cold and biting!   After about 5 minutes I realized that if I was going to last, I had to stop at a store (Thanks, Filene’s!) to buy a hat and some mitts.    Picked up a cute, matching pair that matched my scarf too!

Anyhooooooo - a power-walk about town, around Boston Common, with a self-potrait at the Cheers bar, and I’m back in my hotel to de-thaw.

If anyone has words to describe the cool factor in this city, I’m all ears.   :-)

Go Sox.
