Started with a coffee at Ladro…..then we went for a birthday bike ride because, well, that’s just how we roll!
WoooHOOOO!

Back on the spin bike…..Happy Fall!

Okay….so it was Supah-fast for me… a beautiful, hilly ride on a sunny day in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. If there is a better way to spend a Sunday morning, I’d like to hear about it!

Just a notice: I’m writing less and less. It’s more ‘reporting’ than it is blogging. Hmmmm. Do I have less to say?
Two more sleeps…. this taper-less-is-more has been a treat!
Workout:
… to do hills today. ;-) (Was it, Peter?)
And yet, it was a terrific ride. I love hills so it was right up my alley!

Wow, there’s two words I never thought I’d say. I used to hate the stuff. Icky. But, on today’s ride, I sure needed a shot. Good thing I carry an emergency packet in my silver bullet. And I must say, the stuff has grown on me.
Only ‘plain’ though… followed with a water chaser.

As a training tool, I decided to ride this whole trip in my big chain ring. No matter what the terrain, my goal was to stay in the hardest 3-4 gears.
So, my legs are a little tired… but I can see how it could be a useful shake up to my rides……

We did it! The 2008 RSVP (Ride from Seattle to Vancouver (Canada) and Party!) was a huge success!! 1300+ riders (I was #3!), and 186 miles later…we were bottoms up (in so many ways).
I was worried that my back wouldn’t hold up however, all systems were go! I didn’t even get a flat. Our family doc (Go Ross!) was in our pace line so I knew that I’d be taken care of if anything glitched. Happily, I felt like I could go farther! Yeah!
Mitch (my spousal unit) is the Ride Director - so I know how much work goes into this event. His team was at their best. Mother Nature cooperated, the volunteers were brilliant, and the US border agents were only moderately jerky coming home.
All in all, a fine accomplishment! It’s clear why this event sells out before the end of January!
Thanks, Cascade Bike Club!!!

WhoooHOOO! A bike tour of the back country of Kirkland! Read: made a few ’alternate’ turns and ’discovered’ some cool hills! :o) It was a great way to start the day…even if it did start while it was still DARK outside!
